Client is looking for a Database Administrator in the Airway Heights, WA area. The position is permanent and they are offering 60-62k annual salary and they are not offering relocation.
Supports, monitors, tests and troubleshoots database systems and applications.
Build database schemas, tables, procedures, and permissions
Administers and monitors mission critical databases, maintaining all database security accounts.
Performs data backup and ensures data security procedures, and reports unauthorized database usage and security problems.
Responds to the needs and questions of users concerning their access to database resources and the operation of various software programs.
Performs preventive maintenance procedures on all databases.
Receives, prioritizes and responds to Desktop Support calls for database problem resolutions.
Ensures control and protection of company assets.
Microsoft Certified IT Professional in SQL Server required
Minimum five years of experience supporting and administering MS SQL Server in an Enterprise setting.
This will include demonstrated skills in:
Installing SQL server
Working with and administrating SQL Security
Creating and modifying databases, tables, and fields
Creating backup jobs with SQL Agent
Knowledgeable in how to restore a database from a SQL backup
Familiar with accessing and reviewing SQL Logs
SQL Performance tuning using database optimization techniques such as
Creating/maintaining an index
Working with database statistics
Checking database integrity
Programming experience in MS Transact SQL (T-SQL)
Creating/modifying stored procedures and triggers
Experience using commit transactions in queries
Experience querying large, production database tables
Experience with manually importing and exporting data between MS SQL and other data sources
At least three years of demonstrated experience supporting a computer network
Understanding Network Security (Active Directory)
Working with a TCP/IP network topology
At least three years of demonstrated experience supporting a Client-Server application:
Desktop Support experience of the end user environment, such as:
Creating Client Installation documentation
Troubleshooting user issues, and documenting them in a Support Request Ticket system
Backend Application Server demonstrated experience, such as:
Monitoring Application Server logs
Troubleshooting performance issues
Security login setup and maintenance
Demonstrated skills in one or more of the following database applications: MAS 500, Kronos, Ultipro, Infogenesis POS, or Visual One PMS.
